geat to see WHO impressed by geller...she is the anjum choudary of extremist jews...

Will - below fyi, yes there is generic protection, i accept your point - but just just look at what is classified as anti semitic.

basically good luck with organising events mocking jews and with singing any funny songs at white hart lane...you will face prosecution. historical enforcement of this special protection for jews leads to jews not facing the same type of events held in texas.

I personally have no issue with such events.

Hate speech laws
Forbidden behaviour ; Several statutes in the UK forbid expressions of hate towards someone based on that person's ethic or national origin or religion. The law defines such behaviour as being any communication that is abusive, insulting or threatening and where the intention is to alarm, distress or harass the victim.

Examples of behaviour
Some instances of anti-Semitic behaviour is mocking a Jewish person's physical appearance, referring to attributes that a reasonable person would consider to be offensive should it be aimed against his nationality, making disparaging remarks about Jewish holidays or holocaust-related events and indulging in any language that could be described as singling a person out because he or she is Jewish.

Acts and punishment
Relevant acts There are three acts in the UK which could refer to anti-Semitic behaviour. The first is the Public Order Act of 1986 which bars anti-Semitic behaviour where there is an intent to stir up racial hatred. The Criminal Justice and Public Order Act of 1994 prohibits anyone from causing alarm or distress. Finally, the Racial and Religious Hatred Act of 2006 expanded on the Public Order Act by condemning the display of threatening written material. Punishment The Public Order Act carries a maximum sentence of seven years' imprisonment or a fine, or both. The Criminal Justice and Public Order Act says that anyone guilty is liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for at most six months or a fine. Hate crime laws This law is different from the prohibition against hate speech. The Crime and Disorder Act of 1998 states that showing hatefulness towards a person based on their membership (or presumed membership) in a racial group can be considered an aggravating factor, and would certainly encompass an anti-Semitic definition. This is confirmed by the fact that a racial group is said to be a group of people defined by their reference to race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origins.

And there you have it, a true Islamphobe comment from you as you say that the gunmen, looking to kill, were just 'some muslims'.

Possibly, someone may react violently if there were a cartoon of Jesus exhibition. So far, I haven't heard of anyone going out of their way to kill for such a thing, though. I don't think anyone has gone after the Monty Python team for Life of Brian, for example. And I don't think anyone has gone after the Southpark boys for their regular depiction of Jesus with his public access TV show. Neither have jews gone after southpark for their hilarious depiction of Yaweh. The scientologists did try to rake some muck up on them, but not kill them.

I only know of extremist muslims who have reacted murderously for the so called crime of drawing an image of Mohmammed.

I think that point is less relevant than my point over the possible reaction.

You should be allowed to draw what you want without being killed, offence is in the eye of the beholder.

But like I said put the shoe on the other foot (in a state like Texas, with the possible exception of Austin) and sooner or later someone is going to get hurt.

Was it to draw an "insulting" picture of Mohammed? I thought it was just to draw a picture. That's the point. You're not even allowed to draw a picture of Mohammed helping an old lady across the road according to the psychotic nutters who say they are muslim.

Good point cholo. Who knows what crazy Americans will do but as Geller said - someone made a depiction of Christ in a jar of piss which offended many Christians. I hadn't herad about it but no-one went to kill at the exhibition it seems.

And I think that is the difference too. There might be a crazy American with a gun go mad but normal Muslims that live amongst us all as friends repeatedly go off to join ISIS or want to kill not because of mad voices in their heads but from teachings of the Islamic 'bible' The Koran.

*start to become normal and certainly by future generations will laugh at how ridiculous these times are for Islam...

Re: Texas police shoot dead 2 gunmen at exhibit of Prophet Mohammad cartoons
If a group of Muslims held a "draw insulting cartoons of jesus" competition in the middle of Texas, would the reaction to it have been any different? Maybe, maybe not, a local or two may have got more than a little upset and trigger happy about it.

Of course it would be much better if no one got upset about depictions of their particular sky fairy.

Re: Texas police shoot dead 2 gunmen at exhibit of Prophet Mohammad cartoons
Yes I've just watched it as well. I think it is what concerns us all about Islam being an insidious and evil idiology. It was designed by a clever man who history records as a multi-murdering war lord and paedophile in the 7th century to get his followers to be completely loyal to him in the fashion of modern cult leaders.

Geller is right that basic freedoms are not allowed in Islam because it shows the cult for what it actually is and that is not a force for good unless one takes an extremely liberal viewpoint.

It is an ideology that rates women, Jews, other religions and Christians as 2nd class citizens to exploit or kill as suits Muslims. Geller is right - those that follow Jihad are savages and not worthy of living amongst western civilisations with basic freedoms enshrined in our laws.

It's a pity because I feel that most Muslims once away from the Middle East star

She couldn't have made it clearer that her problem was solely with violence against freedom of speech. The interviewer was repeatedly made to look extremely silly. A couple of times she blatantly lied about what that Geller woman had said. It's actually very worrying how deep the problem lies.

"I'm anti-Jihad, and anyone who says I'm anti-Muslim, excuse me, is implying that all Muslims support Jihad".

It should be a minimum requirement that interviewers on the subject should at least have read the koran. The bint below clearly is clueless.

Then tell us what legislation specifically relates to anti-Semitism. There is none that I know of or can find. The laws regarding anti-Semitism relate to all religions.

"Anti-Semitic behaviour is defined as behaviour that is offensive to anybody who has Jewish heritage, and which threatens, abuses or insults such a person based on his or her Jewish nationality, race or religion. Clearly, such acts are outlawed under an act prohibiting expressions of racial hatred, and if proved to be true, can result in fine, imprisonment or both."

"Forbidden behaviour - Several statutes in the UK forbid expressions of hate towards someone based on that person's ethnic or national origin or religion. The law defines such behaviour as being any communication that is abusive, insulting or threatening and where the intention is to alarm, distress or harass the victim."

So go on then stirling I challenge you to tell us what these anti-Semitic laws are?

Re: Texas police shoot dead 2 gunmen at exhibit of Prophet Mohammad cartoons
Seems to me that the mindset the fundamentalists have stems mainly from the Arabian peninsula & the teaching of Wahhabism, so here's my solution. Lock it down to secure the oil supply as that is what buys them tolerance from the rest of the world, except for Mecca & Medina so that they still have their sacred holy sites. Eliminate all the stupid backward fuckers throughout the muslim world who promote, believe or adhere to persecution of those who like a drink or pig meat, who stop women from driving cars and make them wear ninja outfits & insist on them walking two yards behind a man. The rest of the world then need to appreciate the likes of Saddam & Bashir Al Assad who keep the loons under their thumb, & support them in keeping their countries primarily secular so that everyone, no matter what their background or beliefs are, can live equally in peace alongside their secular muslim neighbours. Throw in a small part of Jerusalem & you have a bit of a plan.

"It's hard to deal with 2 idiots at one time..anyhow, here goes. Freedom of speech does not exist. One religion has specific laws protecting it from being offended. One follower of this protected religion organised an event that could be deemed offensive. Extremist murderers react in a manner that a vast majority of humans would not."

Freedom of speech does exist. In a modern civilised society one only has freedom to speak provided it does not break laws. There is no law in UK specifically for Jews. Muslims and all religions have the same laws applied to them.

You have to stop listening to your Muslim buddies that cloud your mind with lies. You do realise that Texas is in USA don't you? An exhibition of cartoons of Muhammed are only offensive if you are so full of insecurities and hatred that you can't shrug it off as irrelevant.

Reading your rubbish posts only makes me want to vote UKIP....
